African Fusion - Angola meets Brazil With an African Fusion dance theme and working alongside Melanin Festival for another fantastic Black History Month celebration, Mamawe returns with two fantastic dance workshops. Exploring the undeniable links between Angola and Brazil, Mamawe gathers two fantastic dance teachers that will take you into a journey of African Fusion. 12.30 - Registration 1pm - Angelina Abel: Angolan African fusion dance teacher based in Sheffield, Angelina, will deliver a workshop fuelled by the power beats of Kuduru. Taking you to urban Africa and exploring its relation to other Angolan styles such as Semba, Kazukuta, Kizomba and Tarrachinha, this is a workshop where technique meets intention. 2.30 - Break 3pm - Adriano Oliveira: Brazilian guest teacher Adriano Oliveira, will be in Sheffield for the first time. Bringing his dynamic dance approach and experience in Afro Fusion, Afro Contemporary, Afro House, this is a promise of African Fusion at its best. A workshop full of dance FIRE!
